Coif- Chainmail

This is a maille (chainmail) coif, commonly worn head protection of the middle ages. Often worn with a leather cap and/or helmet. Provides good neck protection as well, as it hangs evenly around the neck and just barely on the shoulders. Made of 16 gauge stainless steel tightly butted interlocking rings. (no not completely authentic as far as the steel goes. But very close overall. You really don't want the maintenance on mail made of carbon steel. It rusts easily and must be kept oiled and well protected when not worn. This piece, however, is very durable.. Any questions, please ask.
